How Permia Works

On our path to creating the ‘New Cubed’, we decided to supply our members with a custom large-scale world to use to the best of their abilities. This world is called Permia, a 20,000 diameter custom terrain featuring natural and fantasy biomes to allow a myriad of building styles.

What are the world rules?

The world is based on region protected freebuild. Nobody can build until they claim an area, or be added to an existing claim. This keeps the world clean of relatively random structures, prevents intensive grief and helps members have control over their group projects and who can join in. Guests can build in Permia if they’re added to a claim, but they cannot use WorldEdit. Guests can’t create claims, or have ownership of existing claims transferred to them.

WorldEdit and Voxel is enabled for all members. This ensures members can build to the best of their abilities and utilise every tool we have to offer. As stated above, guests can’t use WorldEdit or Voxel.

How do I claim land?

We use GriefPrevention to protect land and allow members to claim regions. Protection is important to us; even staff are restricted from building in your claims without administrative permissions.

You can claim a region using a gold shovel, treating it like a Worldedit Axe; using right click on blocks to set positions 1 & 2. You can also right click with a wooden stick to inspect a region’s size or check if the area you want is already claimed.
